Project Portfolio

This slideshow follows our process of reconstructing a historic Ottawa summer house in 2001 for the Outdoor Discovery Center of Holland, Michigan.  Steve Pigeon and George Hedgepeth both assisted with the project.  The structure is a fairly typical 16’ diameter domed Great lakes wigwam covered with cedar bark with and upper roofing of birch bark pekwe’wen rolls.   The completed structure has been used for interpretive programming as working outdoor classroom where visiting school groups learn about local Native American culture and history.
